The past year has brought a whirlwind of change for Santa Rosa sweetheart, Storm Fog. Last year, he got married, and this year he left his lifelong home in Sonoma County and moved southbound. When he isn’t tending bar at  Trumer Brewery or chilling with wifey, you can catch him in East Oakland, either spot searching on dog walks with his pup Otter Pop, or shredding the streets, striving to skate untouched spots with a style and creative approach that uniquely shines in Storm. A lot has changed for our dear friend since we last spoke. So, it was definitely due time for a little chat.
6x6 - Storm Fogg

How’s the transition been moving from Santa Rosa to Oakland?
Yeah, it's been exciting. We locked in a pretty cool spot and got some jobs going, so that's pretty sick. I’m right off International, so I can get Mexican food like 30 seconds from my doorstep.
How’s married life treatin’ ya?
It’s great. We're gettin’ along well.
Find much time to skate these days?
Yeah, gettin’ it in when I can. I've been doing a lot of spot hunting. Like walkin’ my dog and tryna look for shit that people haven’t skated. I’m close to Alameda, too, so I drive across the bridge and check out that naval base a lot.
What’s different about skating in the East Bay and the North Bay?
Its hard to just get up and go skate around the house cause the infrastructure out here is fuckin’ crumbly and shit. The first time I tried to leave my house to just go skate around, I got tossed like twice, just pushing around. It was kind of funny (laughs).
When are you gonna make your way up to the PNW?
Hopefully, some time soon. I had hella fun the last time I was up there… I think had too much fun (laughs).
What part still gets you amped to go skate?
Paul Sharpe’spart in Man Down still gets me as hyped as the first time I saw it (we couldn’t agree more). I think everyone has tried to pause it to count how many tech decks he ollies to start the part out. I think someone recently posted the actual count online. His speed, pop, and trick selection paired with the Ladytron song are super captivating. He looks like a matador off the clock when he wraps up with the cruiser bike, dirt hill bomb. The editing complements a few recurring tricks really well, too.
